Will OpenAI be able to crawl my landing page when I run ChatGPT Ads?
OpenAI uses a dedicated crawler called OAI-AdsBot to validate the safety and policy compliance of every ad's landing page. If your bot protection (Cloudflare, Akamai, fraud-prevention WAFs) blocks the user-agent OAI-AdsBot/1.0, ad validation will fail and your campaigns won't run. How accurate is the conversion?
The conversion captures user intent, the underlying scenario behind each keyword, rather than the surface phrase. For specific B2B or considered-purchase keywords, accuracy is high. For broad transactional or local-intent keywords, the model is honest about conversion limits. Bid range guidance is anchored to the category-bound $3-$5 CPC guidance visible in the Ads Manager as of our last verification.
Will this work for Microsoft Ads or Bing Ads campaigns too?
Not yet. This tool is purpose-built for ChatGPT Ads. A Google Ads to Microsoft Ads variant is on our roadmap because Bing's index also feeds Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT Search retrieval, but it's not live yet. Subscribe via the email gate to be notified when it ships.
What's a context hint and why doesn't ChatGPT Ads use keywords?
ChatGPT Ads is intent-driven rather than phrase-driven. Instead of matching a keyword like 'best CRM for small business' to a literal user search, ChatGPT looks at the user's intent and scenario, for example, a user describing their team size and asking for a recommendation, and matches your context hint semantically. Context hints are plain-language descriptions of WHEN your ad should appear, not WHAT it should match.
What happens to the keywords I paste in?
Your input is sent to Anthropic's Claude Haiku model for the conversion analysis. We do not log raw keywords beyond what's needed to deliver the email report (if you opt in). We do not share your input with any third party other than the LLM provider.
