Put your weekly AI visibility briefing in the Slack channel your team reads

By AI-Advisors·AI Automation·All plans

AI-Advisors posts your Weekly Update into one Slack channel you pick: an AI-written read on what changed and why, seven-day KPIs with deltas, and the top actions to take, each deep-linked back into the app. The integration is post-only by design - it requests no message-reading permissions, so it cannot see any of your conversations.

Overview

A dashboard only helps the person who opens it. The Slack integration turns your Weekly Update into a team briefing: every week, on the day you choose and in your organization's timezone, a formatted message lands in your channel with your Visibility Score, Citation Share, Positive Sentiment, AI Bot Crawls, AI Referral Visits, AEO Score, and Responses Analyzed - each with an explicit plus or minus delta against the prior week.

The briefing leads with an AI-written 'This week's read': a headline on what changed and why, plus a short 'Where to focus this week' list. It is generated from your real data only - seeded demo data is always excluded from the narrative. Below it come your top open AEO recommendations, alerts when a platform's visibility drops more than 5 percentage points or a competitor's mentions climb more than 20 percent, the latest AI Automation run status, and a ChatGPT Ads performance section that appears automatically once you have ad data.

Everything in the message links back to the relevant page in AI-Advisors, so a teammate can go from reading the briefing to acting on it in one click. And because the app can only post, never read, connecting it asks nothing of your Slack workspace beyond one channel.

How it works

Weekly Update in your team channel

A formatted briefing headed 'Your Weekly Update' posts to your selected public channel every week, on the delivery day you choose, in your organization's timezone. One channel per organization, changeable at any time.

An AI-written read leads the message

The briefing opens with 'This week's read' - a headline on what changed and why, plus a 'Where to focus this week' list. The narrative is generated from your real data only; demo data never leaks into it.

Seven-day KPI snapshot with deltas

Visibility Score, Citation Share, Positive Sentiment, AI Bot Crawls, AI Referral Visits, AEO Score out of 100, and Responses Analyzed - each shown with an explicit plus or minus change versus the prior week.

Action items and automation summary

Your top 3 open AEO recommendations, an alert for any platform visibility drop over 5 percentage points or competitor mention gain over 20 percent, the latest AI Automation run status, and a count of pending items ready for review.

ChatGPT Ads section when you run ads

Weekly spend, impressions, clicks, and CTR with deltas, your top ad by CTR and by spend, and a count of ads awaiting review - included automatically whenever ad data exists, omitted when it does not.

A data-sync watchdog built in

If a connected Google Search Console, Google Analytics, or HubSpot sync has not run in more than 3 days, the briefing leads with a 'Data sync delayed' warning linking to your connections page - so a stalled data feed never hides quietly.

Test sends and deep links

A 'Send Test to Slack' button posts the full current briefing to your channel immediately, so you can review the format with real data before the first scheduled send. Every section carries a button that jumps straight to the matching dashboard page.

Set up

Setup is a standard OAuth connect in two visible steps: authorize, then pick a channel. Nothing sends until both are done.

An org owner or admin opens Settings, finds the Slack row under Integrations, and clicks Connect. Slack's own consent screen shows the requested permissions - posting messages and listing your public channels - and approving it returns you to Settings with the row marked as authorized and waiting for a channel.

An inline picker lists your workspace's public channels with member counts (up to 200 shown). Click the one you want and setup is complete - briefings post there from your next scheduled delivery day, and a 'Change channel' menu item on the row lets you switch later without reconnecting.

Optionally, open AI Automation and go to Alerts to pick your delivery day, any day Monday through Sunday, and hit 'Send Test to Slack' to see the full briefing in your channel right away. The Slack toggle there stays greyed out until a workspace is connected, so connect in Settings first.

Takes a few minutes

Data and permissions

The integration is post-only by design: it can publish a briefing to the one public channel you select, and it requests no permissions that would let it read anything your team says.

What we read
  • Your workspace's public channel list - names and member counts - only to populate the channel picker
  • Your workspace name and id, returned once during OAuth and stored so Settings can show which workspace is connected
What we write
  • The weekly briefing message, posted to your selected channel on your delivery day
  • On-demand test briefings when you click 'Send Test to Slack' or 'Send briefing now'
What we never touch
  • Message history, threads, or direct messages - no message-reading permissions are requested
  • Private channels - the picker lists public channels only
  • User profiles, files, or workspace settings
  • Your workspace structure - it never creates channels, invites members, or sends DMs

OAuth scopes requested: chat:write and chat:write.public to post the briefing into your chosen public channel, and channels:read to list channels for the picker. There are no message-read scopes of any kind.

Good to know

  • Included on all plans - Starter, Growth, Enterprise, and every AppSumo lifetime tier.
  • One Slack workspace and one delivery channel per organization; connect, disconnect, and channel changes are owner and admin actions, while any member can trigger a test send.
  • Delivery is weekly on the day you pick, in your organization's timezone; the default day is Monday.
  • A 6-day duplicate guard means moving your delivery day to less than 6 days after the last send skips that occurrence and resumes the following week.
  • Slack and email are independent toggles on the same weekly briefing - run either channel or both.
  • Disconnecting deletes the stored connection and its token immediately and briefings stop at once; nothing in your Slack workspace changes.

Frequently asked questions

What permissions does AI-Advisors request in Slack?

Three scopes: chat:write and chat:write.public to post the briefing into a public channel you choose, and channels:read to show you a channel picker with names and member counts. That is the full list - there are no message-reading, file, or admin permissions.

Can AI-Advisors read our Slack conversations?

No. The integration is post-only: no message-read scopes are ever requested, so the app has no ability to see messages, threads, or direct messages in your workspace. It also cannot post into private channels - the picker lists public channels only.

What is in the weekly briefing?

An AI-written 'This week's read' on what changed and why, a seven-day KPI snapshot with explicit deltas (Visibility Score, Citation Share, Positive Sentiment, AI Bot Crawls, AI Referral Visits, AEO Score, Responses Analyzed), your top 3 open AEO recommendations, alerts for platform visibility drops over 5 percentage points and competitor mention gains over 20 percent, the latest AI Automation run status, and a ChatGPT Ads section when you have ad data. Every section links back into the app.

Which plans include the Slack integration?

All of them. Slack delivery is available on Starter, Growth, Enterprise, and every AppSumo lifetime tier - it is not gated behind a higher plan.

Can I choose which channel the briefing goes to, and change it later?

Yes. You pick one public channel during setup, and a 'Change channel' menu item on the integration row lets you switch at any time without reconnecting. Briefings go to one channel per organization, and nothing sends until a channel is selected.

Can I control when the briefing arrives, and preview it first?

Yes to both. In AI Automation, under Alerts, you pick any delivery day Monday through Sunday, and the briefing arrives that morning in your organization's timezone with a built-in guard against duplicate sends. A 'Send Test to Slack' button posts the full current briefing immediately so you can review the format with your real data.

What happens if I disconnect?

The stored connection, including its access token, is deleted immediately and briefings stop at once. Nothing changes inside your Slack workspace, and reconnecting later repeats the same two-step setup: authorize, then pick a channel.
